A real fire for a smaller room, with a version that makes heat with no electricity at all. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 750–1,500 sq ft • Fuel: Natural gas or propane (conversion kit required for propane). • Controls: Millivolt version needs no electricity; electronic ignition has a battery backup; optional remote, wall control, and thermostat. • Fan: Included Who It’s For Smaller rooms are the hardest ones to heat sensibly—the furnace runs for the whole house just to warm the one room you’re actually sitting in. You need a fire that fits the room, not one that overwhelms it. If you want a compact gas stove for the den, the cabin, or the addition—one that keeps making heat when the power goes out —the Haliburton is the one. Choose a stove that depends on electricity instead and your heat disappears the same moment your lights do. What Makes It Special The millivolt Haliburton needs no electricity to run , and the electronic-ignition version has a battery backup. Light it and it heats, whatever the grid is doing—the built-in blower spreads warm air around the room when the power is on, and the fire keeps radiating on its own when it isn’t. It also looks the part. The included PHAZER log set sits under flames that move and glow like a wood fire , and the ceramic glass does more than show it off—the glass itself radiates the fire’s warmth into the room, so you feel the heat from across the couch. Possible Downsides • Remote controls, wall controls, and thermostats are all optional —none is included with the base stove. • It runs on natural gas out of the box ; propane takes a conversion kit. • It’s the compact stove in the Distinct Series ; if you need a bigger fire for a larger space, look at the Havelock. If you want a stove that keeps a room warm no matter what the power is doing, the Haliburton is the right decision. The room it sits in becomes the room everyone ends up in. The Haliburton takes a door in metallic black or satin chrome, with an optional satin chrome accent bar and ornamental trivet, black andirons, and ambient-glow embers to finish the look.
