What Makes It Special The 18-hour maximum burn comes from a big firebox paired with the maker’s hybrid combustion, rated at 80% efficiency. It takes logs up to 24 inches long, so you split less and load more at a time. The 232-square-inch window gives you a broad view of the fire. Legs and an ash pan come standard, and a rear-mount blower is available to send heat into the far rooms. Possible Downsides • The blower is an add-on. As delivered, it heats by radiating from the stove body. • It’s a lot of heat for a small space. For a single room, the Answer stove is rated for up to 1,400 square feet. • Wood heat is hands-on.
