You need a fire that fills the frame. The 616 Ember-Glo Deluxe is for the homeowner with a large existing fireplace who wants the fire to read from across the space and heat it. Choose a small insert and the opening looks half-used; choose this one and the fire fills the wall it was built for. What Makes It Special The glass is 27 1/2 inches wide and nearly 20 inches tall , 542 square inches in all, so the log fire stands tall instead of sitting low in the opening. Ember-Glo lighting makes the bed under the logs glow, and a top accent light brings out the logs and the back wall. Choose handmade brick, herringbone brick, ledgestone, painted black, or black glass behind the fire, and frame it in the Shadowbox, Metropolitan, Times Square, Wilmington, or Profile face. Possible Downsides • It only goes into an existing fireplace. For a wall with no fireplace, look at a built-in model. • Seven faces are offered, and no arched face is among them.
